Ms. Nagle Recognized as FCPS Cares of the Month Recipient!
December 2019/January 2020 Region 5 Recipient
Congratulations to Special Education Teacher Tamara Nagle on being recognized as the December 2019/January 2020 FCPS Cares Recipient of the Month for Region 5 by the Department of Human Resources. Congratulations, Ms. Brown!
Below is the write up submitted by Mr. Eric Thompson, a colleague of Ms. Nagle.
Tamara Nagle at Cub Run Elementary has taken the FCPS Theory of Action to heart (To Continuously Improve Teaching and Student Learning). In particular, she has embraced Dr. Brabrand’s commitment to knowing each student by name and by need. She is now reaping the benefits of student success that is suggested will follow. This year she began working with a student new to our building who had a significant number of absences last year and generally left most days after two or three hours of instruction due to behavior concerns. Mrs. Nagle assembled her team and collaborated with our administration to garner support for her goal of keeping this child in school. So far this year attendance has dramatically improved and the student is regularly making it through the entire day. As the disruptive behaviors have diminished and attendance has improved, their school work is flourishing. Kudos to Mrs. Nagle, her team, and the administration at Cub Run Elementary School.
